The Old Man and the Sea
Taken through our bedroom window at Nani's house. This is probably my favorite picture of the trip, again (I seem to be putting those closest to the header). The contrast was fun, and the diagonal rocks at low tide were really nice to see.
Anchored
The beautiful water and the sedentary boat (anchored as a reference spot for some of the water sports) made for a very fun picture, right off our room's balcony.

Porto, Portugal, July 2026
A Cor Da Vida
This is probably my favorite picture from this trip. Porto is such a colorful and interesting place, and it really feels like there's a certain spark there that I haven't felt in a while. Perhaps this is curious in direct contrast to Edinburgh's more subdued atmosphere (although they both share the hilly topography and cobbled streets), but everything felt so bright.
Through the trees
This picture is curious to me because of the tricks it plays with perspective (at least, I think so?) The foreground foliage vs the background foliage and the statue made me do a doubletake when I first reviewed that shot.
Untitled
Not sure what to call this, but the setup of the 18th century clock tower through this random street was very exciting. I initially thought the crane marred the overall construction (lol) of the photo, but even if it's off center and not level, it adds an interesting layer and "containment" to the composition.
Masterful Construction
I had taken a few pictures before this instance, and they helped me realize I could mimic the nature of a suspension bridge with the mast and barren rigging of this ship on the Rio Douro. Probably the most "clever" picture I took, makes me happy!
Abridged
I really have been on a tear with the bird photos, and the contrast of the sky and bridge while getting lucky with one of the numerous Portuense seagulls was a delight.
Almost blue
The Capela das Almas in Bolhão, Porto, is covered in azulejos, a form of painted tin-glazed ceramic tilework. While resplendent across Porto, they look particularly beautiful here, and I tried my best to get an "interesting" picture.
On your left
I liked the perspective and shadows in this shot, and I was surprised by how nice the McDonalds (not actually pictured) looked. A pretty fancy three story building!

I like taking photos of birds contrasting with landscapes, and this one was the first of many on my trip to Scotland with my girlfriend. Big fan!
